Este episodio de san Miguel, el arcángel guerrero que aparece en el libro de Daniel, está extraído del Apocalipsis, donde se narra que hubo una batalla en el cielo entre san Miguel con sus ángeles y el dragón con los suyos, siendo arrojado a la tierra la antigua serpiente, llamada Diablo y Satanás, al igual que los que lucharon con él.
